Route and train
The fare shown is the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Shin-Osaka. Most visitors take the JR Kyoto Line instead, which is cheaper and covered by the JR Pass; we have not yet sourced its fare for this page, so check it before you travel.
Does the JR Pass cover it?
Nozomi and Mizuho trains need a separate NOZOMI MIZUHO Ticket with the JR Pass. We have not published its price for this route yet; see the official special ticket page.
Is a JR Pass worth it for this trip?
A round trip (¥6,160) is about 12% of a 7 day JR Pass (¥50,000). On its own this route will not justify a pass; single tickets are cheaper unless the rest of your week involves several long trips.
