Tokyo to Nagano costs ¥8,450 (about US$54) one way for an adult in a reserved ordinary seat in the regular season, on the Kagayaki listed by the source. Peak and off-peak dates, a non-reserved seat or a Green Car change the price.

Route and train

The Hokuriku Shinkansen runs direct from Tokyo to Nagano. Onward trips to the snow monkey park use the Nagano Electric Railway or buses, which are not JR and are not covered by the pass.

Is a JR Pass worth it for this trip?
