Hiroshima to Hakata costs ¥9,100 (about US$58) one way for an adult in a reserved ordinary seat in the regular season, on the Kodama listed by the source. Peak and off-peak dates, a non-reserved seat or a Green Car change the price.

Route and train

The fare shown is for a Kodama, the first train listed by the source. Mizuho and Nozomi are faster and need the special ticket with a JR Pass; Sakura and Hikari do not.

Does the JR Pass cover it?

Nozomi and Mizuho trains need a separate NOZOMI MIZUHO Ticket with the JR Pass. We have not published its price for this route yet; see the official special ticket page.

Is a JR Pass worth it for this trip?

A round trip (¥18,200) is about 36% of a 7 day JR Pass (¥50,000). On its own this route will not justify a pass; single tickets are cheaper unless the rest of your week involves several long trips.
