Tokyo to Hakata costs ¥23,810 (about US$152) one way for an adult in a reserved ordinary seat in the regular season, on the Nozomi listed by the source. Peak and off-peak dates, a non-reserved seat or a Green Car change the price.

Route and train

Nozomi trains run through from Tokyo to Hakata. A JR Pass holder needs the special ticket for that, or takes Hikari and Sakura trains with at least one change.

Does the JR Pass cover it?

Pass holders who want Nozomi or Mizuho need a NOZOMI MIZUHO Ticket: ¥8,140 (about US$52) per adult per ride on this route (official Japan Rail Pass site, last checked 2026-10-22).

Is a JR Pass worth it for this trip?
