Route and train

Odawara is the JR gateway to Hakone. Hikari and Kodama stop here and are covered by the JR Pass. The Hakone Tozan and Odakyu lines beyond are not JR and are not covered.

No Nozomi or Mizuho trains run on this route, so the JR Pass covers it with no extra ticket.

Is a JR Pass worth it for this trip?
